The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation and the Gustavia Yacht Club have donated 14k dollars to the Sint Maarten Yacht Club (SMYC) towards the running of their “Primary School Sailing Program”. The program gives 12 local students, aged 10 – 16, the opportunity to receive weekly sailing lessons at no cost. At present, the focus is on getting the students comfortable in a boat without a sail and developing their control of the boat. Please find photos of the Gustavia Yacht Club logo on the Sint Maarten Yacht Club Optimists that are used for the program lessons. The Gustavia Yacht Club burgee is proudly on display at the SMYC restaurant and our name has been added to the donor board.
