The event will also highlight the incredible work of the SNSM (Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer), a voluntary association in Saint Barts, dedicated to rescuing people in danger at sea. We are honoured to welcome Mr. Bertrand Hudault, General Inspector for Overseas Stations at SNSM Headquarters (including St. Barthelemy) (https://www.linkedin.com/in/bertrand-hudault/), Mr. Julien Lestin (Deputy Captain of SNS 269 Capitaine Danet), and Mrs. Elise Magras (Deputy President of SNS 269 Saint Barthelemy Station). The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation has already donated €10,000 to the SNSM via bank transfer. Guests will also have the opportunity to contribute if they wish, with no pressure to do so. Mrs. Elise Magras will give a four-minute presentation in the evening to update donors on SNSM’s recent activities. This will be followed by a brief presentation by Mr. Hudault on the national sea rescue organization, including its challenges, accomplishments, and the dedication of the thousands of volunteers who make up its operational network. This event will provide an opportunity for members of the Gustavia Yacht Club to gain a deeper understanding of SNSM’s rescue missions and their needs. Last year, SNSM President Ingenu Magras and Captain Jerome Pellerin of the SNSM shared heartfelt speeches about the association’s mission and the challenges faced by its volunteers. Following the speeches, the President and Captain were given a Gustavia Yacht Club burgee from our Commodore. This year’s event will provide another chance to learn more about their vital work and to show our support!
