This morning the Gustavia Yacht Club members after donating towards the French Lifeboat Association (SNSM) were given the opportunity to board the boat of the SNSM at the Capitanerie in Gustavia, St. Barth.
The lifeguards, “Les Sauveteurs En Mer”, welcomed us on board and the captain Jerome Pellerin gave us a 10 minute briefing before taking us out to sea. During our trip, close to Shell Beach, the lifeguards demonstrated the procedure of saving a life. Our member, Nicolas Martinet, volunteered to jump in the sea and help with the demonstration. Upon our return to Gustavia, victorious pictures were taken on board with the friendly and joyous crew.
Donations made during today’s boat trip and at the dinner being held tonight at the Club House will be doubled by the Stelios Foundation and donated to the SNSM.
