This weekend members of the Gustavia Yacht Club from different parts of the world joined our Commodore, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, for the Spetses Classic Yacht Regatta. Members got the chance to board Commodore’s sailing yacht “Aria 1” who acted as a committee boat throughout the regatta.
“Aria 1” anchored at the start/finish line and we all watched the committee signal the start and finish of the race whilst we applauded this year’s 44 teams.
The races were followed by drinks and canapes at Sir Stelios new home on the island of Spetses, “Arhontiko Aria”. All GYC members and participants of the Spetses Regatta joined us as we raised a glass to this year’s races.
The prize giving event will be held this evening and our Commodore will award one of the winning teams.
